Summary: The role of Commercial Procurement Lawyer involves providing legal advice on commercial, contractual, and procurement matters within a Central Government team. The successful candidate will be a qualified legal professional with strong experience in commercial and procurement law, managing legal risks, and resolving disputes. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement and is expected to last for a minimum of six months. The role is integral to addressing high-profile government issues and ensuring effective contract management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage legal risks in conjunction with other risks
  • Work alongside litigation lawyers/counsel in dispute resolution cases
  • Instruct and manage external law firms and counsel
  • Work closely with advisory law teams and help implement policies

Key Skills:

  • Qualified legal professional (Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent)
  • Sound understanding of public procurement and contract law
  • Proactively manage risks and identify solutions
  • Commercial and procurement experience
  • An understanding of the role of lawyers in Government
