Summary: The Senior Commercial Finance Analyst role at MBNL involves supporting the Commercial Finance Manager and Head of Commercial Finance in achieving financial targets through effective business partnering and financial management. The position requires the production of financial plans, management of financial processes, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency. The analyst will also be responsible for identifying cost-saving opportunities and enhancing existing financial processes. This is a 9-month day rate contract based in Reading with a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Commercial Finance Manager and Head of Commercial Finance in delivering a trusted business partnering relationship with stakeholders.
  • Manage all aspects of financial management including accounting, business partnering, reporting, and budgeting.
  • Produce 5-year plans and quarterly business plans with requisite analysis and presentations.
  • Own month-end processes and provide support to team members as needed.
  • Work with the Financial Accounting Team to produce month-end results and financial reporting.
  • Influence senior stakeholders to ensure financial targets are met and controls are maintained.
  • Simplify complex financial concepts for better understanding among stakeholders.
  • Ensure delivery towards Capex and Opex targets with financial rigor.
  • Implement enhancements to existing processes for greater efficiency.
  • Maintain finance control environment and suggest improvement plans.
  • Manage Opex and Capex effectively.
  • Identify and drive cost-saving opportunities to meet corporate financial targets.
  • Collaborate with contract managers and procurement teams for effective financial management of contracts.
  • Act as a business partner and advisor for business teams, shareholders, and suppliers.
  • Produce financial analysis and modeling for commercial deals.
  • Establish strong relationships with shareholders and vendor teams.
  • Support the Commercial Finance Manager in managing the budget and provide ad-hoc support to senior finance leadership.

Key Skills:

  • Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA accountant or similar with at least 2 years post-qualified experience.
  • Experience in managing senior stakeholders and complex contracts.
  • Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and highly analytical.
  • Excellent communication skills and a curious mindset.
  • Keen problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work by deadlines.
