Commercial Catering Equipment Trainer (Gas & Electric) Location: Epsom, Surrey, UK Contract Type: Fixed-Term / Sessional Salary: £32.21 per hour Closing Date: 31 October 2025 Interview Date: 11 November 2025 Overview Our client, a highly regarded further education provider in Surrey, is seeking an experienced Commercial Catering Equipment Trainer to deliver high-quality training and assessment in both gas and electric commercial catering systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a qualified industry professional to share their expertise and support the next generation of engineers. The successful candidate will bring current, hands-on experience within the commercial catering equipment sector and a strong understanding of gas and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and practical training sessions to candidates in commercial catering equipment servicing and maintenance.
• Assess learners’ competence and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
• Prepare and maintain lesson plans, course materials, and assessment documentation.
• Support candidates with learning and career development opportunities.
• Complete administrative duties associated with teaching, assessment, and quality assurance processes.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, and equality and diversity standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a commercial catering equipment service engineer.
• Recent and up-to-date industry experience in commercial catering equipment service and maintenance.
• Qualified in Gas, Electrical, or Electronics, or evidence of recent continuing professional development (CPD) in manufacturer-led training for commercial catering appliances.
• Experience delivering training or mentoring in a professional environment (formal teaching experience highly desirable).
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to supporting learners and promoting technical excellence.
• Willingness to undertake enhanced DBS clearance and other pre-employment screening checks.
