Summary: The role of Commercial Business Analyst involves joining a transformation programme to integrate two bp businesses, focusing on eliminating manual processes and achieving straight-through processing. The position requires immediate availability and entails bridging the gap between technology and business stakeholders while leading the commercial process design stream. The analyst will be responsible for capturing business requirements, facilitating workshops, and managing workstream delivery using agile methodologies. Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the commercial business analysis workstream, ensuring progress is tracked and that all relevant process scenarios are designed within agreed timelines.
  • Design, plan, and facilitate workshops across multicultural and geographically dispersed teams to shape and validate the end-state solution.
  • Capture clear, high-quality business requirements and communicate these effectively to technology, testing, and change teams to support development, testing, and functional acceptance.
  • Produce end-to-end to-be process flows (up to Level 5) to support stakeholder understanding and change impact assessments.
  • Document requirements, process flows, change impacts, and knowledge-sharing materials; manage these artefacts to ensure accuracy and appropriate dissemination.
  • Provide input into the creation of user acceptance test cases.
  • Provide weekly status updates, highlighting risks and escalating blockers when required.
  • Manage workstream delivery using agile methodologies, contributing to stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint ceremonies.

Role Overview

You will join an active transformation programme integrating two bp businesses. This integration spans not only organisational structures but also process and technology design, with the aim of eliminating manual intervention whilst achieving straight-through processing across an end-to-end system landscape that spans deal capture, pricing, valuation, scheduling, settlements, accounting and reporting. As part of the Business Analysis function, you will play a critical role in bridging Technology and Business stakeholders. Success in this role requires the ability to translate seamlessly between business and technical viewpoints, contributing meaningfully to solution design discussions. You will lead the commercial process design stream, driving alignment and defining clear, actionable requirements across all deal execution and pricing processes.

  • Experience with requirements traceability and related documentation practices.
