Summary: Seeking an experienced Cognos Administrator to manage and enhance the IBM Cognos Analytics environment, ensuring performance and stability while collaborating with various teams to deliver effective reporting solutions. The role involves administration, troubleshooting, and support of Cognos environments, along with participation in upgrades and system improvements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Business Intelligence platforms and a strong understanding of Cognos Analytics. This position offers flexibility with remote or hybrid working arrangements in Austin, Texas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, maintain, and support IBM Cognos Analytics environments, including Development, Test, Production, and Disaster Recovery.
- Lead and support Cognos upgrades, including Cognos v11 migrations and enhancements.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize platform stability and scalability.
- Manage software installation, configuration, security, licensing, deployments, and environment maintenance.
- Provide technical support and guidance to reporting developers and business users.
- Participate in business continuity, disaster recovery, change management, incident management, and problem resolution activities.
- Collaborate with Data Warehouse, Infrastructure, Application Development, and Business teams to deliver reporting and analytics solutions.
- Develop and maintain documentation, best practices, standards, and operational procedures.
- Support production environments, including occasional on-call responsibilities.
- Recommend system improvements and new capabilities to enhance reporting and analytics performance.
Key Skills:
- 5 7+ years of experience designing, developing, administering, and supporting Business Intelligence platforms.
- Strong hands-on experience administering IBM Cognos Analytics.
- Experience with Cognos v11 upgrades and migrations.
- Experience with system performance monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and environment management.
- Knowledge of security administration, software deployments, and BI platform governance.
- Experience supporting enterprise reporting environments within Data Warehouse and Operational Data Store ecosystems.
