Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and enhance enterprise applications as a Cobol Developer in line with technical and business requirements
- Produce functional and technical design documentation, estimates, and contribute to governance reporting
- Develop and maintain solutions using COBOL, SQL, UNIX, and related technologies
- Support system testing, integration testing, release activities, and resolution of live production incidents
- Mentor junior developers and assist in coordinating delivery activities across the team
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Cobol Developer in large-scale enterprise or public sector environments
- Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, SQL, UNIX, and relational databases (e.g. Ingres or similar), with exposure to integration tools such as Mule, XML, and Web Services
- Strong understanding of systems architecture and SDLC (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid delivery models)
- Ability to perform detailed technical analysis and translate business requirements into effective solutions
- Excellent communication skills with experience working in consultancy-led, collaborative teams
