Summary: The CNC Operative role involves working with bespoke joinery contractors to manufacture and install custom joinery products. The ideal candidate will have experience operating CNC machinery and will be responsible for producing components according to manufacturing instructions while ensuring quality control. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a team-oriented environment. The role is based in Battle, East Sussex, with a focus on maintaining productivity and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Producing processed panels to CNC manufacturing instructions and downloading programs.
- Liaising with the CNC manager and works staff to manufacture components to required priorities.
- Inspecting materials before use to determine suitability for tasks.
- Completing quality control records and raising NCRs through the works NCR system.
- Changing blades and cutters as required and checking all ironmongery and panel sizes once machined.
- Following managers and supervisors' instructions and procedures relating to chain of custody.
- Unloading and loading delivery vehicles, including fork truck and banks man operation.
- Minimising waste and maximising productivity while respecting and assisting colleagues.
- Raising any issues immediately with line management regarding QHSE concerns.
Key Skills:
- Demonstrable experience of CNC Operating.
- Basic knowledge of PC programmes.
- Ability to work independently without continuous direction.
- Good attention to detail.
- Experience with a range of joinery mill machinery (5 AXIS CNC, Vertical CNC, Beam Saw) is advantageous.
