Summary: The CNC Machine Operator is integral to the production process, tasked with operating various CNC machines to ensure precision and efficiency in machining operations. This role involves setting up and executing machining tasks on different materials while adhering to specifications and quality standards. The operator must also utilize precision measuring tools to maintain accuracy throughout the machining process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines for 3, 4, and 5 axis machining.
  • Perform tasks such as conventional milling, drilling, fast hole drilling, and graphite shaping on metal castings, forgings, and bar stock.
  • Follow specifications and set-up instructions, applying expertise in machining methods.
  • Manually lift workpieces onto the machine table or use material handling equipment.
  • Position and secure workpieces accurately.
  • Select appropriate tooling for each job.
  • If required, place tools in the automatic tool changer in the specified sequence from the process sheet.
  • Record production inspection results in the computer data system.
  • Monitor displays on the control panel and compare them with data from the process sheet.
  • Verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and machining speeds.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools, such as micrometers and precision dial gauges, to ensure accuracy.
  • Follow company specifications to deburr parts or components.
