Summary: As a CMDB & LeanIX Data Steward, you will be responsible for managing configuration and application data within ServiceNow CMDB and LeanIX, ensuring data quality and operational usability. This role requires collaboration across various IT teams to establish a trusted data model that supports service mapping and governance. You will take ownership of data lifecycle controls and work closely with stakeholders to implement effective governance practices. The position is part of a significant transformation initiative within a large organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the authority for configuration and application data across ServiceNow CMDB and LeanIX.
- Establish and maintain a single, trusted data model supporting service mapping, architecture, operations, and governance.
- Take ownership of data quality, lifecycle controls, and reconciliation between platforms.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to embed governance and prevent data decay.
- Define the canonical data model and support service mapping outcomes.
- Resolve data conflicts and enable sustainable business-as-usual processes.
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB, including CI classes, relationships, and service mapping concepts.
- Practical experience with LeanIX or equivalent enterprise architecture tooling.
- Solid understanding of CSDM, application lifecycle management, and ITIL/ITSM processes.
- Proven track record of improving data quality within complex IT environments.
- Experience working across federated or global organizations.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with a pragmatic, delivery-led mindset.
- Desirable experience includes service mapping implementation, aligning EA tooling with operational CMDBs, exposure to SIAM or multi-supplier models, and supporting audit or compliance activities.

Your new company
You'll be joining a large, complex organisation undergoing significant transformation across its application and service landscape. The business is investing heavily in improving the quality, governance, and operational use of its CMDB and enterprise architecture data, with ServiceNow and LeanIX at the heart of this journey.
The environment is collaborative, delivery-focused, and federated, requiring strong engagement across IT Operations, Architecture, Application Support, and Service Design & Transition teams.
Your new role
As a CMDB & LeanIX Data Steward, you'll act as the hands-on authority for configuration and application data across ServiceNow CMDB and LeanIX. Your primary focus will be to establish and maintain a single, trusted, and operationally usable data model that supports service mapping, architecture, operations, and governance.
This is a delivery-focused role where you'll take ownership of data quality, life cycle controls, and reconciliation, ensuring both platforms remain synchronised, semantically aligned, and fit for purpose. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to embed pragmatic governance and prevent data decay following implementation.
