p>Cloud Solution Architect - Banking - London/Remote

The IT Infrastructure Solution Designer is required, responsible for designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions that align with business objectives. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including business units, IT teams, and external vendors, to capture existing infrastructure deployment detail and develop solutions that meet technical and operational requirements following migration.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Solution Design:
    • Analyse business and technical requirements to design end-to-end IT infrastructure solutions.
    • Develop technical architectures, roadmaps, and detailed design documents for infrastructure projects.
    • Ensure proposed solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with industry best practices.
  2. Technical Leadership:
    • Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the project life cycle, from initial concept to implementation.
    • Collaborate with IT architects, engineers, and operations teams to ensure smooth delivery of solutions.
    • Identify and resolve technical challenges during project implementation.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Work closely with business units to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements.
    • Present solution designs and recommendations to stakeholders and obtain approval.
    • Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  4. Technology Evaluation and Adoption:
    • Stay updated on emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact on the organisation.
    • Recommend new tools, platforms, and methodologies to enhance infrastructure capabilities.
    • Conduct proof-of-concept (PoC) testing for new technologies.
  5. Governance and Compliance:
    • Ensure all solutions comply with organisational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT governance frameworks.
  6. Documentation:
    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all designs, processes, and implementations.
    • Ensure knowledge transfer and training for relevant IT teams.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure design and implementation.
  • Strong understanding of networking, Servers, storage, vitalisation, and cloud technologies.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure-related tools and platforms such as VMware, Cisco, Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with IT governance frameworks (eg, ITIL, TOGAF).
  • Proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects.

Desirable:

  • Relevant certifications (eg, Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, VMware VCP).
  • Experience with DevOps methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with containerisation technologies (eg, Docker, Kubernetes).
