Summary: The Cloud Security Architect role involves leading the security architecture and design for major projects, with a focus on cloud security controls in AWS and Azure. The position requires hands-on experience in evaluating and implementing security technologies and adherence to industry standards. The role is based in Coventry and requires on-site presence two to three days a week. The contract is initially for three to six months and classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans security systems by evaluating security technologies; developing requirements for firewalls, IPS/IDS, SIEM, DLP, Web security, Email security, VA/PT and related security devices; designs public key infrastructures (PKIs), including use of certification authorities (CAs) and digital signatures as well as hardware and software; adhering to industry standards.
- Understanding of Access management solutions.
- Implements security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment; directing equipment and software installation and calibration; preparing preventive and reactive measures; creating, transmitting, and maintaining keys; providing technical support; completing documentation.
- Delivering Security Architectures/Strategies as part of a broader Enterprise or IS/IT Architecture.
- Interpreting and applying appropriate Standards, Policies and Legislation, e.g. ISO27001, PCI DSS, COBIT, SOX, etc.
- Understanding of Threat and Risk analysis methodologies/techniques and the interpretation/application of their output in the definition of Security Architectures.
Key Skills:
- Demonstrable experience of cloud security controls in AWS and Azure.
- Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, IPS/IDS, SIEM, DLP, etc.
- Knowledge of public key infrastructures (PKIs) and certification authorities (CAs).
- Understanding of Access management solutions.
- Ability to implement security systems and provide technical support.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO27001, PCI DSS, COBIT, SOX.
- Experience in Threat and Risk analysis methodologies.
