Key Responsibilities:

Work arrangement:
- Onsite is highly preferred, but open to remote
- W2 position; 6 months

Position summary:

- The day often begins with monitoring network performance and availability across cloud platforms like Azure or AWS, using tools such as Azure Network Watcher, CloudWatch, or SolarWinds.
- The Engineer is responsible for designing and configuring cloud network components including virtual networks, subnets, VPNs, and load balancers ensuring secure and efficient connectivity across hybrid environments.
- They frequently perform problem resolution by analyzing logs, packet captures, and alerts to identify and remediate network issues.
- Using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or ARM templates, they automate network provisioning and enforce consistency in deployments.
- The Engineer also develops and documents technical standards, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and compliance requirements.
- Throughout the day, they may collaborate with security, DevOps, and application teams to support integrations, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement network changes.

Required technologies:
- Experience with cloud networking components such as Azure Virtual Network (VNet), AWS VPC, Route Tables, Network Security Groups (NSGs), VPN Gateways, and Load Balancers is essential for designing and managing secure, scalable cloud networks.
- Proficiency with VPN technologies is critical for configuring and troubleshooting both cloud and hybrid network environments
- Network Monitoring and Security Tools, experience with tools such as AWS CloudWatch for monitoring, diagnostics, and performance tuning of cloud networks.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Tools - Familiarity with tools like Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates is important for automating network provisioning and ensuring consistency across environments.

Job/class description:
- Duties: Make recommendations to management to adjust system performance parameters. Develop custom integration solutions. Delegate problem resolution to other team members and conduct follow-up.
- Provide expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business. Analyze new/revised processes/change requests from the maintainer and provide review to technical team. Review transition activities, job control language (JCL), schedules, file setup, and cycle issues. Monitor cycle execution, verify cycle testing, and provide backup when needed. Collaborate with various internal groups and external vendors to ensure all specifications are met and problems are resolved as they arise.
- Develop custom integration solutions. Evaluate interrelationships in complex projects to determine how changes/installations of one program will affect others. Provide enhancement recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy.
- Participate in work sessions and walkthroughs for quality and production implementations, releases, data conversion projects and/or disaster recovery exercises. Attend implementation meetings to determine impact to system availability and assignment of team resources for these implementations.
- Work closely with team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Act as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent. Answer questions for the Production Support team on current system. Assist in training team members regarding new software changes they need to know for supporting active and future workloads.
- Perform installations, configuration, analysis, scheduling and tuning on the area s most complex projects. Ensure Production and Test environments are up and functioning properly. Perform corrective actions whenever possible to fix applications that end abnormally.
- Provide leadership and/or oversight on organization-wide projects impacting the area as needed.
Minimum required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Comprehends data storage techniques, database philosophy, database management, and complex programming techniques.
- Advanced understanding of the requirements for maintaining production systems and the effect of program changes.
- Understands how to use structured techniques in new program development.
- Advanced understanding of development, quality assurance, and integration methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work well under pressure and as part of a team.

- Advanced knowledge of relevant operating systems, programming languages, and development tools and their usage in the company.
Required education/equivalencies:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree;
- OR, Associates degree in CS, IT, or other job-related degree plus 2 years of work-related experience;
- OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 12 years without a degree)
