Summary: The Cloud Network Engineer role involves defining strategies for networking within a hybrid cloud environment, focusing on service design and automation. The position requires collaboration with IT teams to ensure scalable and stable solutions while staying updated on industry trends. The engineer will also be responsible for designing and developing automated networking solutions. This is a contract position based in Havant, Hampshire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define strategy across all aspects of the networking domain to support hybrid cloud adoption.
- Establish standards for Public Cloud technology and contribute to hybrid cloud architecture.
- Stay informed about industry trends affecting enterprise networks.
- Design and develop solutions for automating core networking components.
- Collaborate with peer groups to deliver consistent and cloud-ready IT solutions.
Key Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of Production Support processes.
- Proven IT Engineering experience with a vision for infrastructure architecture.
- Ability to work effectively in a global team and independently.
- Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- CCIE level or equivalent network engineering or architect qualification.
- Advanced knowledge of Routing and Switching.
- Experience with WAN circuits and solutions (MPLS, VPNs).
- Exposure to Zero Trust Network Architecture and SASE concepts.
- Knowledge of Firewall technologies (Checkpoint, Fortinet, CISCO).
- Familiarity with Application Delivery Controllers (F5, Citrix).
- Network programmability skills (Ansible/Python).
- Experience with Public Cloud solutions (AWS/Azure).
- Proficient in networking design and documentation (HLD/LLD).
