Summary: The Cloud & Infrastructure Project Engineer at Rotork is responsible for delivering and optimizing cloud and infrastructure solutions, particularly focusing on the Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) program. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, configure, and maintain Azure environments for the D365 program.
- Manage Azure resource provisioning, networking, security, storage, and monitoring components.
- Implement and monitor consumption controls for cost management and scalability.
- Collaborate with D365 teams to align Azure infrastructure with application requirements.
- Establish and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Bicep or Terraform.
- Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and integration.
- Implement monitoring and alerting to ensure environment health and availability.

Job Description
The Output Document Developer can be based at our Global head Office in Bath, UK. We can also support the role to be based out of our Manchester or Leeds based operations. This Cloud & Infrastructure Project Engineer role is an 18 month Fixed Term Contract (FTC)
Job Purpose:
The delivery, and optimisation of cloud and infrastructure solutions in support of strategic IT projects, with a strong emphasis on the Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) programme. This role plays a key part in enabling the successful execution of technology initiatives by providing expert input into architecture, environment buildout, and infrastructure automation. The engineer will work across both cloud and on-premise platforms, contributing to infrastructure transformation and modernisation efforts that align with business goals—rather than day-to-day support operations.
D365 & Azure Focus (Primary, not limited to):
- Design, build, configure, and maintain Azure environments to support all stages of the D365 programme (development, testing, UAT, pre-production, production).
- Manage Azure resource provisioning, networking, security, storage, and monitoring components in alignment with D365 architecture and Microsoft best practices.
- Implement and monitor consumption controls to manage costs, ensure scalability, and optimise Azure resource usage across environments.
- Collaborate with D365 functional and technical teams to align Azure infrastructure with application requirements and deployment timelines.
- Establish and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform for environment consistency and repeatability.
- Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and integration with D365 components and customisations.
- Implement monitoring and alerting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights to ensure environment health and availability.
Qualifications Required skills and experience
Essential:
- Proven experience as an Azure Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, or similar role in enterprise environments.
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Virtual Networks, Azure Active Directory, Azure DevOps, Azure Storage, Azure Monitor, and Azure Key Vault.
- Practical experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or other enterprise-grade ERP/CRM platforms in cloud environments.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI) for provisioning and operational tasks.
- Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform.
- Working knowledge of networking (Cisco), virtualisation (VMWare), Windows Server, and core IT infrastructure technologies.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably in Azure DevOps.
- Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting infrastructure performance issues and conducting root cause analysis.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent documentation abilities for producing clear and reusable technical content.
