Summary: The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer role involves supporting a professional membership body in the financial sector during its transition to a cloud-first infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, and execute the migration of on-premises workloads to cloud platforms in collaboration with vendors and stakeholders.
- Configure and maintain cloud resources including virtual machines, storage, virtual networks, firewalls, and databases.
- Implement and manage endpoint tools such as Intune, MDM, and Apple School Manager to maintain compliance and security.
- Work closely with cybersecurity teams to apply security protocols and conduct regular audits and risk assessments.
- Modernise and migrate workloads to IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS to enhance system performance and availability.
- Develop automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code using tools like ARM templates, Terraform, CloudFormation, PowerShell, and CLI.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues, support incident resolution, and assist in disaster recovery planning.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and ensure effective communication with internal and external parties.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in cloud infrastructure roles with a strong focus on Azure and AWS.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect) are preferred.
- Proficiency in integrating cloud and on-premises environments.
- Familiar with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
