Summary: The role of AWS Cloud Engineer involves developing high-quality, secure code and managing AWS services using CloudFormation and other tools. The engineer will contribute to technical designs, ensuring performance and security while adhering to Agile methodologies. The position requires extensive experience in software development, particularly with AWS services and application architecture. This is a contract role classified as inside IR35, starting as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce high quality, performant, and well-documented code adhering to secure coding principles.
- Understand and work with CloudFormation templates (Infrastructure as Code / IaC).
- Provide input on technical designs, recognizing potential performance and security issues early.
- Manage work using Scrum and Kanban Agile methodologies, supporting continuous improvements.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs.
- Drive the end-to-end software development lifecycle.
- Deliver successful enterprise-class products to market.
- Implement automation at all levels of software development.
Key Skills:
- 9+ years of experience in software development.
- Proficiency in Go, with familiarity in Java desirable.
- Application architecture skills and understanding of AWS services integration.
- Strong engineering practices (XP, TDD), CI & CD, and pair programming.
- Experience with Cloud Native patterns and SOLID principles.
- AWS certification relevant to the role (e.g., Cloud Practitioner, Developer, Architect).
- Ability to identify appropriate data structures for given requirements.
