Key Responsibilities:
- Build, operate, and improve AWS platforms in live production environments.
- Document the current AWS estate to an operational level.

- Work closely with the engineering function to deliver secure, reliable cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code.
- Support the team with knowledge sharing and training needs to uplift cloud capability.
- Contribute directly to live cloud builds and operational improvement.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud infrastructure.
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on AWS cloud engineering experience in production environments.
- Proven delivery of AWS infrastructure using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Exposure to Azure within a multi-cloud AWS/Azure environment.
- Experience building secure-by-default AWS platforms, including IAM, networking, logging, and guardrails.
- Strong documentation habits and a collaborative approach to knowledge sharing.

A strong contract opportunity has opened for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join a well-established organisation with a mature cloud estate. This is a hands-on delivery role, suited to someone who’s comfortable owning real infrastructure and contributing from day one.
As a Cloud Engineer, you’ll be focused on building, operating, and improving AWS platforms in live production environments. You’ll work closely with the wider engineering function to deliver secure, reliable cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code, while supporting the organisation’s ongoing cloud maturity and operational capability.
The Cloud Engineer role is firmly delivery-led rather than advisory. You’ll be documenting the current AWS estate to an operational level, contributing to upcoming AWS builds, and supporting the team with practical improvements around security, automation, and knowledge sharing. There’s also scope to input into training needs and help uplift cloud capability across the team, working in an Agile / DevOps model with a high degree of autonomy.
