Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure across multi-account environments
  • Implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform with modular, reusable best practices
  • Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using AWS-native tools (CodePipeline, CodeBuild) and Git-based workflows
  • Optimising cloud environments for performance, scalability, cost efficiency, and resilience
  • Managing monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch and related tooling
  • Implementing automated patching and configuration management using AWS Systems Manager
  • Supporting database workloads in AWS, including RDS and associated backup and recovery processes
  • Working closely with infrastructure and security teams to ensure best practices across cloud environments

Key Skills:

  • Strong hands-on AWS experience across core services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, CloudWatch)
  • Proven experience building and managing infrastructure using Terraform (modular IaC approach)
  • Experience with AWS-native CI/CD tooling (CodePipeline, CodeBuild) or equivalent (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
  • Strong understanding of Linux (RHEL) and/or Windows environments in AWS
  • Experience with AWS Systems Manager (patching, automation, inventory)
  • Knowledge of AWS security best practices (IAM, KMS, networking controls)
  • Experience working within multi-account AWS environments and shared services models
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in cloud environments

One of Lorien's key public sector clients is looking for an AWS Cloud Engineer to join their team on an initial 12 month contract
