Summary: The Cloud Architect (AWS) role is a hands-on position focused on leading the technical development of a next-generation cloud infrastructure as part of a multi-year transformation program. The architect will be responsible for designing and implementing cloud solutions using AWS services, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards. This contract position requires a strong background in cloud architecture and a passion for modernizing legacy systems. The role is hybrid, requiring two days on-site in Malvern, PA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Cloud Architecture Strategy: Drive architectural planning and cloud adoption across a wide array of platforms, spanning client-facing tools, internal operations systems, and core financial platforms.
- Design & Build with AWS: Architect end-to-end solutions using core AWS services including Lambda, S3, API Gateway, EventBridge, and more. Certification in AWS architecture is a must.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Translate business goals into technical blueprints by partnering with product owners, engineers, and fellow architects across domains.
- Mentor & Guide: Set the technical direction and support development teams with architectural insight, hands-on coaching, and governance.
- Ensure Cohesiveness: Align cloud solutions with data and enterprise architecture standards to ensure consistency across systems and integrations.
- Promote Standards: Define reusable frameworks, patterns, and guardrails that improve system performance, maintainability, and security.
- Communicate Effectively: Present architectural plans, trade-offs, and technical decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Key Skills:
- Demonstrated success in cloud and solution architecture roles in large, complex environments.
- Expertise in full-stack development and cloud-first design patterns such as microservices, serverless computing, and event-driven architecture.
- Advanced experience with AWS architecture and infrastructure management. AWS Solutions Architect certification is preferred.
- Experience leading cloud architecture within digital transformation programs, preferably involving financial platforms.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of engaging a wide range of stakeholders.
- Familiarity with platform integrations (Salesforce or similar) and cross-system orchestration.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
- Awareness of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks.
