Summary: The Clinical Applications Analyst for Shared EPR plays a crucial role in supporting the Patient Administration System (PAS) and other clinical systems within the BSW Group's shared Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme. The position involves managing day-to-day administration of the PAS, ensuring data quality, and providing timely support to clinical and operational teams. The analyst will work independently to maintain system configurations and contribute to the overall efficiency of digital workflows. This role is based at one of the three Trusts: Great Western Hospital, Royal United Hospitals Bath, or Salisbury Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day administration of the PAS, including development and maintenance of clinic schedules.
  • Ensure accurate integration with national and local systems such as the eReferral Service and DrDoctor.
  • Handle service requests, troubleshoot system issues, and apply standard operating procedures for problem resolution.
  • Support users across the Trust by making changes to clinic templates and updating letter formats.
  • Contribute to the EPR programme by ensuring digital workflows are accurate and reliable.

Job Summary Clinical Applications Analyst for Shared EPR - 18 Month Fixed Term / Secondment This role supports the delivery and smooth running of the Patient Administration System (PAS) and other core clinical and business systems as part of the BSW Group's shared Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme. Working within one of the three Trusts ,Great Western Hospital (GWH), Royal United Hospitals Bath (RUH) or Salisbury Foundation Trust (SFT) The postholder will help maintain and administer Cerner Millennium PAS alongside key systems such as pathology, radiology, pharmacy and legacy applications. The position plays an important part in ensuring that digital systems operate reliably, data quality is maintained and clinical and operational teams receive timely support.

Main duties of the job The postholder will manage day-to-day administration of the PAS, particularly the development and maintenance of clinic schedules within Cerner Millennium. This includes ensuring accurate integration with national and local systems such as the eReferral Service for GP referrals and DrDoctor for appointment reminders and electronic patient letters. They will handle service requests, troubleshoot system issues and apply standard operating procedures to resolve problems efficiently while maintaining high data quality. Working independently but within established processes, the role involves supporting users across the Trust, making changes to clinic templates, updating letter formats and ensuring system configuration meets operational needs. The postholder will also contribute to the wider EPR programme by supporting the smooth running of core systems and helping ensure that digital workflows remain accurate, reliable and aligned with clinical and administrative requirements.

Person Specification Qualifications Education, Qualifications and Training Essential Relevant qualification in computing and information technology to degree level or equivalent experience. ECDL or CLAIT or equivalent computational/capability. Educated to A level (or equivalent) standard. Cerner Millennium Scheduling training Desirable Cerner Millennium CRS Admin course (equivalent to NVQ level 3). Cerner Millennium development training. Training in other EPR or related systems (e.g. DrDoctor, SystemOne, TPP). Experience in other health associated systems (e.g. ICE, ULTRA, CRIS). Relevant experience or training on large healthcare-based systems. Evidence of ongoing personal development Experience Essential Experience in providing support and advice to system users of customers. Experience of problem resolution. Experience of administering and supporting large scale systems. Experience with RPAS Experience with Oracle Health System Desirable Experience of working with Cerner Millennium Applications.
