Summary: The Clerk of Works for Repairs & Maintenance will be responsible for conducting inspections related to damp and mould across housing properties, managing a backlog of repair jobs, and ensuring contractor work meets quality and compliance standards. The role requires regular site visits and involves specifying remedial works and managing health and safety compliance. A full UK driving licence is essential for this position. This is a 6-month contract based in Canterbury with flexible working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out damp and mould inspections across housing properties
- Help clear a backlog of reactive repair jobs
- Inspect contractor works to ensure quality, cost and timescales are met
- Specify remedial works, approve variations and recommend payments
- Identify defects, raise works orders and check completed repairs
- Ensure health & safety compliance, including fire safety and asbestos awareness
- Keep all paperwork and systems up to date
- Manage and book your own site appointments
Key Skills:
- Experience in building maintenance / housing repairs inspection
- Strong understanding of damp and mould causes and solutions
- Knowledge of landlord compliance, Decent Homes Standard and H&S regulations
- HNC/HND in Building Surveying or relevant construction qualification
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to sites
