The Role
As a Civil Engineering / Technical Construction Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and industry-focused lessons that develop learners' technical knowledge, practical skills and understanding of modern construction and civil engineering practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering Civil Engineering and Technical Construction courses across a range of levels
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons that support learner achievement and progression
- Teaching industry-relevant topics including construction technology, surveying, site management and civil engineering principles
- Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback to support development
- Preparing learners for employment, apprenticeships and further study within the construction sector
- Promoting safeguarding, equality, diversity and professional standards at all times
What We're Looking For
- A qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Studies or a related discipline
- Experience teaching Civil Engineering, Construction or related technical subjects, or significant industry experience
- Teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong technical knowledge of current construction industry practices and standards
- Experience within Further Education, apprenticeships or work-based learning environments (desirable)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
