Summary: The Civil Engineer Onshore will play a critical role in a major Offshore Wind Project in the UK, focusing on the preparation of technical documents and management of contractors to ensure compliance with HSSE and quality standards. This position involves oversight of civil/structural design for substations and ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the project phases. The engineer will also contribute to logistics planning and interface management among various work packages. Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of technical documents/papers for internal review.
- Preparation of employer's requirements and technical specifications.
- Management of contractors and subconsultants to ensure compliance with HSSE, quality, and technical requirements.
- Oversight of the complete Substation civil/structural design, including all interfaces with other disciplines.
- Ensuring design and as-built substation meet all consent and regulatory requirements.
- Support during the Detailed Design and Construction phase.
- Input into onshore ground investigations, site surveys, and walkovers.
- Oversight of logistics plans and onshore transportation routes for substation activities.
- Providing technical input to other project functions.
- Participation in project team meetings and cross-disciplinary cooperation.
- Participation in procurement activities associated with onshore civil works.
- Define, identify, and manage key interfaces between different work packages.
Key Skills:
- Degree in engineering or a related field.
- Approximately 10 years of experience in onshore civil works for the power industry.
- Chartered or working towards chartered status.
- Successful track record in project delivery.

Responsibilities
- Preparation of technical documents / papers for internal review
- Preparation of employer's requirements and technical specifications
- Management of contractors and subconsultants to ensure that their output meets HSSE, quality, and technical requirements in an adequate, economic and efficient manner.
- Oversight of the complete Substation civil/structural design, as developed by consultants and contractors, including all interfaces with other disciplines, from planning drawings through FEED to the completion of detailed design.
- Ensuring that the design and the as-built substation meet all consent and regulatory requirements
- Support to the project during the Detailed Design and Construction phase.
- Input into the definition and execution of onshore ground investigations, site surveys and walkovers
- Oversight of the logistics plans and onshore transportation routes for all onshore substation related activities
- Giving technical input to other project functions in your area of knowledge/expertise.
- Participation in project team meetings and cross-disciplinary co-operation.
- Participating in the procurement activities associated with onshore civil works in the project.
- Define, identify and manage key interfaces between the different work packages ensuring those are captured in technical requirements and more broader contract documentation.

- Be degree educated in engineering or a related field with approximately 10 years experience
- Be chartered or working towards chartered status
