Civil Engineer

Summary: The Civil Engineer role involves producing design deliverables for civil engineering projects within the water industry, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The position requires effective communication of design solutions to clients and project teams, as well as the direction of CAD technicians and junior designers. Additionally, the role includes preparing design risk assessments and specifications while managing project changes and adhering to formal processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce design deliverables for civil engineering designs across the water industry.
• Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.
• Identify efficient design solutions from scopes and site visits and communicate these to client and project team.
• Direct and develop CAD technicians and more junior designers and graduates.
• Prepare design risk assessments, reports and specifications.
• Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and water company standards.
• Ensure project change for design package is fully implemented and recorded.
• Undertake work using formal processes and procedures.
• Estimate hours required for design packages.
• Attend and present designs at HAZOP, ALM, KM meetings and similar.
