Summary: The Civil Engineer role involves supporting the delivery of clean water capital schemes in the South East, focusing on both technical office work and site-based delivery. Responsibilities include design input, documentation, contractor liaison, and mentoring graduate engineers. The position requires collaboration with senior engineers and project managers to ensure consistent delivery across the civils programme. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, particularly within the water sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the production of design drawings, scopes, job packs, and CDM documentation
- Carrying out site audits and providing contractor support during delivery phases
- Mentoring Graduate Engineers within the delivery team
- Working with internal stakeholders and third parties to secure approvals
- Flagging risks to programme or cost to the Senior Engineer or Project Manager
- Contributing to consistent delivery across the civils programme
Key Skills:
- Degree or HND in Civil Engineering
- Experience in the water sector or similar regulated industry
- Strong understanding of clean water infrastructure
- Knowledge of CDM 2015 and NEC
- 5+ years’ experience delivering water mains, pipelines, or civils packages
- Comfortable working independently while supporting the wider team
- Ability to support and mentor junior team members
