Summary: The role of Civil Engineer involves overseeing the design delivery processes for maritime, Defence, or Heavy Civil Projects within a well-established engineering consultancy. The position requires extensive experience in civil and structural engineering, particularly in nuclear-related projects, and is classified as inside IR35 for a duration of 12 months. The role is based in Glasgow and offers a hybrid working arrangement. Key Responsibilities:
- Identify civil and structural project functional requirements and engage with stakeholders and third parties.
- Manage design delivery partners' inputs to the project.
- Support project optioneering and value engineering processes.
- Review and accept project drawings, specifications, design risk assessments, and associated documentation.
- Manage detailed design activities in accordance with project standards and industry codes.
- Provide technical supervision of civil and structural construction activities.
- Specify and supervise commissioning of civil and structural work.
- Liaise with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to training development within the area of specialism.

The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has become available with out leading client for an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to become responsible for driving the design delivery processes throughout the project lifecycle. This role has been deemed inside IR35, and is a 12 Month duration Location: Glasgow| Hybrid
Your duties and responsibilities will be
- Identify civil and structural project functional requirements and stakeholder engagement/third party liaison for all civil and structural requirements needs for assigned project.
- Manage design delivery partners inputs to the project.
- Support project optioneering/value engineering process.
- Review and accept project drawings, specifications, design risk assessments and all associated civil and structural documentation.
- Manage design delivery partners detailed design activities in accordance with project standards and all other industry standard design codes and standards.
- Provide technical supervision of all civil and structural construction activities to ensure compliance with design intent.
- Specify and provide technical supervision of commissioning of all civil and structural work.
- Liaise and consult with all stakeholders and relevant third parties throughout project life cycle to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
- Contribute to the effective development and delivery of training within own area of specialism.

- Experience of developing design and safety assurance heavy civils and structural projects.
- Experience in quality and nuclear safety case production civil engineering for complex projects.
The setting for the role Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
