The Role
As a senior technical leader, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of complex reservoir and hydraulic structures projects, working closely with clients, project teams and multidisciplinary engineering specialists.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading engineering teams delivering complex reservoir and hydraulic structures designs
- Taking technical leadership of major reservoir projects from design through to delivery
- Managing the production, review and approval of technical reports, drawings, calculations and scopes of work
- Providing technical leadership across regional and national engineering teams
- Developing and growing the Dams, Reservoirs & Hydraulic Structures capability
- Managing technical delivery against project programmes, budgets and key milestones
- Providing expert technical input into bids and proposals
- Advising clients and internal stakeholders on complex technical challenges
- Driving best practice, innovation and continuous improvement across the engineering practice
- Mentoring and developing engineers and supporting the growth of technical capability
- Working collaboratively with UK and international multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions
About You:
We’re looking for an established senior professional with:
A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
Chartered Civil Engineer status
Demonstrable experience leading the design of reservoir safety improvement works
Significant experience leading large-scale engineering design delivery within consultancy
Strong multidisciplinary project leadership and team management experience
In-depth knowledge of dams, reservoirs and hydraulic structures engineering
Experience with earth and concrete dams, weirs, hydraulic structures, access and accessibility, and construction logistics
Expert knowledge of relevant design codes, standards, industry best practice and CDM Regulations
Significant experience within the Water sector – essential
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
The ability to provide technical leadership and influence at regional and national level
A proactive, collaborative and commercially aware approach
