Summary: This role is for a Civil Engineer specializing in drainage and water design, offering a contract position for 6 months with hybrid working arrangements. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary design team to deliver complex drainage and water management designs for major infrastructure projects across the UK. Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering drainage and water management design solutions
- Producing and reviewing engineering calculations, drawings and technical reports
- Developing designs for drainage systems, flood risk mitigation and SuDS
- Ensuring designs comply with industry standards, regulations and best practice
- Leading technically challenging aspects of drainage and civil engineering design
- Coordinating multidisciplinary design teams
- Identifying and resolving design integration and constructability issues
- Assessing and managing technical design risks
- Conducting site visits, inspections and technical investigations
- Supporting the delivery of sustainable and technically robust engineering solutions
Key Skills:
- Proven experience working as a Civil Engineer within infrastructure or civil engineering projects
- Strong experience in drainage design, SuDS and flood risk management
- Experience producing engineering calculations, reports and technical drawings
- Knowledge of drainage modelling and water management systems
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities
- Experience working on large infrastructure or civil engineering projects would be advantageous
