Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce design deliverables, including drawings, reports, and specifications, in line with applicable Railway Group and Network Rail standards, as well as client requirements.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to ensure designs are practical, buildable, and deliver value for money.
  • Work closely with the wider design team to maintain consistency and quality across all project deliverables.
  • Develop and implement efficient, innovative, and value-driven design solutions that meet both technical and project requirements.
  • Prepare and review engineering designs and calculations.
  • Produce and verify technical documents and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation, with particular focus on CDM Regulations.
  • Provide project administration support to the Project Manager, including monitoring programme delivery, resources, and budgets.
  • Carry out checks to ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System and contribute to its ongoing development.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently, supervise others, review and approve work, and sign off design certificates on behalf of the company.
  • Undertake conceptual, outline, and detailed design of engineering solutions, including the presentation of design options.
  • Deliver work in accordance with agreed programme, budget, and specification.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and third parties.
