Summary: The Citrix Specialist role in Bristol focuses on providing expert virtual desktop technical capabilities within the Workplace Virtualization team. The position involves designing and integrating new technologies, supporting project and business-as-usual operations, and collaborating with an international team managing multiple Citrix farms. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist virtual desktop technical capability and delivery within the Workplace Virtualization team.
  • Design and integrate new technologies for virtual desktop infrastructure.
  • Support project and business-as-usual operations in collaboration with other technical teams.
  • Contribute to the delivery and maintenance of the Virtual Desktop roadmap.
  • Develop business cases for desktop platform usage for local and global customers.
  • Ensure project proposals align with global strategy and optimize end-user experience.
  • Assist tech specialists by providing guidance, support, and consultancy.
  • Maintain expertise in current and future technologies and strategies.
  • Track technical debt and provide solutions to mitigate it.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting, with automation where possible.
  • Record evidence of consultancy and maintain technical knowledge through continuous learning.

Key Skills:

  • Proven expertise in operating within a project environment.
  • Strong understanding of Virtual Desktop technologies.
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with Citrix Xen Desktop 7.x and related products.
  • Knowledge of Citrix Cloud, Active Directory, and Windows Server environments.
  • Expertise in broader Citrix products including Storefront and Netscaler.
  • Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure environments including ESX and Azure.
  • Management of key technology vendors at a senior level.
  • Expertise in SCCM, Intune, and endpoint management.
  • Experience with Powershell scripting in Citrix environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Flexibility in operating hours for occasional overtime or weekend work.
