Summary: As a CHIS (Covert Human Intelligence Source) Handler, you will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and recruiting CHIS while ensuring their welfare and safety. You will manage covert resources and sensitive intelligence in compliance with relevant guidelines and legislation. The role requires collaboration with various agencies and effective communication skills to brief colleagues. Additionally, you will leverage social media platforms to enhance the development of covert assets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identifying, cultivating and recruiting new CHIS, complying with legislation, policy, and procedure.
• Maintaining appropriate tradecraft and ensuring the welfare, safety, and protection of staff and potential CHIS.
• Gathering, recording, and disseminating intelligence in accordance with RIPA and CPIA.
• Working closely with partners and other WMP Departments.
• Developing and maintaining knowledge of local, national, and international issues relevant to daily activity.
• Responding to tasking and identifying the most appropriate use of CHIS.
• Participating in an on-call capacity, receiving on-call payment.
