Summary: Knowsley Council is seeking dedicated Social Workers for their Child in Need (CIN) Team to provide essential support to children and families. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of children and families under Child in Need plans
- Complete high-quality assessments, care planning, and reviews
- Undertake direct work with children, ensuring their voice is central to all interventions

- Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with statutory guidance
- Maintain accurate, timely case recordings and reports
- Participate in CIN meetings, core groups, and multi-agency planning
Key Skills:
- Qualified Social Worker status and registration with Social Work England
- Experience in children’s social care, ideally within CIN, safeguarding, or assessment teams
- Sound knowledge of legislation including the Children Act 1989 and Working Together guidance
- Strong assessment, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage competing demands and work effectively under pressure
- A passion for improving outcomes for children and families

About the Role
Knowsley Council is looking for committed and child-focused Social Workers to join our Child in Need (CIN) Team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children and families who require ongoing support to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.
You will work with children subject to Child in Need plans, providing meaningful interventions that reduce risk, strengthen families, and prevent escalation to child protection where appropriate.

About You
We are seeking motivated and resilient practitioners who have:

- Strong assessment, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage competing demands and work effectively under pressure
- A passion for improving outcomes for children and families
