Childcare Paralegal

Summary: The role of Childcare Paralegal involves supporting solicitors in care proceedings within a local authority legal team in Reading. The position requires strong childcare legal experience and entails drafting legal documents, attending meetings, and liaising with various parties involved in cases. This is a hybrid role with office attendance required once a week and offers a three-month rolling contract. The pay rate varies based on experience and interview performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support solicitors with care proceedings including drafting applications - C110A, C2 Applications, Consent forms, Letters of Instruction, Briefs to Counsel, liaising with SW, experts and other parties.
• Attend Advocates meetings and Pre-Hearing Discussions.
• Deal with private matters in relation to adoption, S.7 and s.37, having direct contact with the SWs and courts regarding the cases.

Key Skills:

• Strong childcare legal experience, ideally within the public sector.
• Experience of dealing with case matters on the (FPL) Family Public Law Portal, Iken and Caselines.
• Willingness to travel to Reading when required.
