Summary: The Chief of Staff role is a 6-month contract position within a FTSE 100 Global Tech Organisation, focusing on supporting the COO of a significant business unit dedicated to a multi-billion-pound global data centre investment programme. The position involves acting as a trusted advisor to C-Suite executives, driving strategic business management, and ensuring effective delivery of business priorities across corporate functions. The role requires frequent travel and on-site presence in London for three days a week, managing a global team of over 800 staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with the COO and senior leadership to define, plan, and execute strategic priorities across the division (circa 800 staff).
- Support operational planning, business reviews, and financial management activities.
- Oversee and coordinate strategic initiatives linked to new data centre buildouts in key regional locations.
- Collaborate with finance, sales and technical teams to ensure operational and business goals are met.
- Translate complex business and technical requirements into clear actions and deliverables.
- Drive performance tracking, executive reporting, and business insights - leveraging advanced Excel skills.
- Enhance organisational effectiveness through process improvement and cross-functional coordination.
- Represent the COO's office across internal meetings and stakeholder forums as needed.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Chief of Staff, Head of Business Management, or Senior Business Operations Leader in a large-scale or regulated environment.
- Strong strategic and operational background - This is a strategic business management position.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging C-suite executives.
- Strong understanding of technology and infrastructure operations (particularly data centres or enterprise tech).
- Exceptional Excel and analytical skills - comfortable producing executive-level reports and insights.

Within this role you will be playing a key part in an extremely high visible role acting as a trusted advisor to C-Suite, driving strategic business management, operational planning and alignment across global cross-functional teams ensuring effective delivery of business priorities across corporate functions, supporting technology strategy and owning staff re-organisation planning.
This a truly visible role in a globally renowned organisation ensuring effective management of a global team of 800+ across multiple regions. The role will require frequent travelling to a handful of their global locations including being on-site for 3 days per week in their London office.
