Summary: The Checkpoint Firewall Engineer role involves working on the upgrade and migration of Checkpoint Firewalls, including testing and documentation. Candidates are expected to have experience with Cisco networking and Checkpoint's scalable platforms. The position requires occasional change work on weekends, with flexibility to support various time zones. Key Responsibilities:
- Work on Checkpoint Firewall evergreen upgrade, migration, and testing.
- Documentation using Jira and Confluence.
- Troubleshoot Cisco switches and routing.
- Perform Checkpoint Maestro upgrades and migrations from NGFW to Security Group with VSX.
- Participate in change work, including working 2/4 Saturdays a month with time back in lieu.
- Support other time zones as needed.
Key Skills:
- Experience with Check Point NGFW and various software blades.
- Experience with R81.20 Check Point Scalable Platform - Maestro with VSX deployments.
- Knowledge of Check Point basic architecture and components - SC, SMS, NGFW.
- Experience with MDS in a High-Availability environment.
- Familiarity with the RMA process.
