Summary: The Chassis Project Engineer - Links and Knuckles will lead the design, development, testing, and validation of chassis linkages and knuckle systems for a prestigious automotive company. This role emphasizes ensuring performance, durability, and safety standards while optimizing the suspension system. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate these components into the vehicle chassis architecture. The position is a contract role based in Leamington Spa with a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of chassis linkages, including control arms, tie rods, wishbones, and suspension knuckles.
- Develop and optimize suspension knuckles and linkage geometry, focusing on kinematics, handling, ride comfort, and durability.
- Select appropriate materials for knuckles and chassis links to balance strength, weight, cost, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with the suspension team to ensure integration with suspension geometry and vehicle dynamics.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards for chassis links and knuckles.
- Support the homologation and certification process for chassis components.
