Summary: The Chassis Engineer role involves leading investigations into wheel alignment and ride height issues for a premium automotive brand. The position requires robust planning, cross-functional collaboration, and application of industry best practices to ensure timely resolution of chassis-related issues. The role is contract-based with potential for yearly renewal and is classified as inside IR35. The position is based in Warwickshire with hybrid working potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead capability and statistical investigation of wheel alignment and ride height issues and improvements.
- Deliver a robust glide path for gateway delivery through effective planning and task delegation.
- Understand and apply best practice industry-wide methodologies (8D, six sigma).
- Facilitate, plan, and push resolution of cross-functional platform chassis issues.
- Manage issues, resolution, and communication against program timing.
- Support the Launch Quality Operating Standard (LQOS) including problem definition and root cause analysis at each physical build phase.
- Remove roadblocks to delivery.
- Lead cross-functional teams to solve issues regularly.
Key Skills:
- Strong mathematical and Excel skills with a sound understanding of engineering principles.
- Experience using quality tools (8D, Six Sigma, Is/Is:not, Ishikawa diagrams).
- Good verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional communication.
- High levels of personal organization, self-motivation, and ability to deliver with minimum supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and introduce new methods to enhance team effectiveness.
- Prior experience as a Chassis/Suspension engineer within the automotive industry with knowledge of articulation motion.
- Experience in GD&T, Minitab, and CAD visualization.

Job Description :
- Lead capability and statistical investigation of wheel alignment and ride height issues and improvements.
- Deliver a robust glide path for gateway delivery. (Robust planning and delegation of tasks)
- Be able to understand and apply best practice industry wide. (8D, six sigma)
- Facilitate, plan and push resolution of cross functional platform Chassis issues
- Issues management, resolution, and communication against program timing.
- Play a supportive role in the Launch Quality Operating Standard (LQOS) including problem definition and root cause at each physical build phase. Aide in removing any roadblocks to delivery.
- Regularly lead cross functional teams to solve issues.
Skills / Experience Required :
- Strong mathematical and Excel skills backed by a sound understanding of engineering principles.
- Experience using Quality tools (8D, Six sigma, Is/Is:not, Ishikawa diagrams)
