Summary: The Systems Test Engineer role at Warwick University involves operating the Environmental Chassis Emissions Dyno and engaging with both academic and third-party engineering teams to meet test requirements. The position requires hands-on preparation and execution of emissions testing, along with reporting and data analysis. The engineer will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and transferring knowledge to team members. This contract position is financed until March 2026 and operates within an inside IR35 framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the Environmental Chassis Emissions Dyno and prepare vehicles for testing.
  • Engage with customers to derive technical test requirements and develop test methodologies.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with health and safety and ISO standards.
  • Report and explain test data results to stakeholders.
  • Transfer knowledge and provide training to new and existing team members.
  • Maintain the physical operation and upkeep of the facility.

Key Skills:

  • Experience with AVL SCADA, PUMA, CAMEO & ETAS INCA in engine test facilities.
  • Technical test and evaluation experience in ICE systems.
  • Desire to develop technical understanding within the team.
  • Ability to evaluate and explain test methodologies.
  • Good understanding of laboratory equipment capabilities.
  • Strong planning and program management skills.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills at an operational level.
  • Experience in an ICE engineering environment.

Salary (Rate): £27.21
