Summary: The Chartered Building Surveyor role involves delivering effective building surveying functions for the Council's commercial property portfolio. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver building surveying functions effectively for the Council's commercial property portfolio.
  • Conduct building condition surveys and create a Planned Property Maintenance (PPM) programme.
  • Prioritize and execute maintenance works, preparing drawings and work schedules.
  • Manage projects of varying complexity, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
  • Compile and analyze data related to commercial property standards and stock investment strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, building regulations, and planning requirements.
  • React to on-site situations, conducting structural diagnostics and determining remedial works.
  • Prepare and manage tender and contract documentation.
  • Supervise contractors and tradespersons for various programs.
  • Produce progress reports, monitoring contract activities and budget adherence.
  • Develop cost-effective methods to improve service delivery.
  • Maintain effective liaison with internal and external customers.
