Summary: The role of CFD Engineer involves performing 3D CFD simulations to support the development of vehicle thermal management systems for a British luxury car manufacturer. This position is a long-term rolling contract based in a hybrid working arrangement from Crewe, Cheshire. The engineer will be responsible for communicating simulation results to relevant system owners and ensuring the thermal durability of various powertrains. The role requires a strong background in vehicle aerodynamics or thermal management, along with practical experience in CFD modeling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform 3D CFD simulations to support development of the vehicle thermal management system and component thermal durability for BEV, PHEV and ICE powertrains.
- Inform relevant system owners of the results of these simulations and the implications for their systems and components.
Key Skills:
- Previous industry experience in either vehicle aerodynamics or vehicle thermal management
- Previous experience with building and running CFD models
- Previous systems engineering experience desirable
- Ability to communicate at various levels across the company in different forums
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Understanding of financial limits within area of responsibility
- Experienced user of PowerFLOW, PowerTHERM and PowerCOOL
- Pre-processing of CAD, mesh and non-geometric data to produce PowerFLOW and PowerTHERM models
- Engineering Degree or equivalent
- Associate membership of a relevant professional institution preferable

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a client who are a British manufacturer of luxury cars and SUVs, known for its high performance and handcrafted quality. They are looking for a CFD Engineer to join their team on a long term rolling contract basis
35 hours per week
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform 3D CFD simulations to support development of the vehicle thermal management system and component thermal durability for BEV, PHEV and ICE powertrains.
