Summary: The Centre Manager is responsible for the effective operation of a Young Learner Centre during the summer, overseeing daily activities, ensuring high-quality language programs, and maintaining a safe learning environment. This role involves managing staff, coordinating with various teams, and adhering to safeguarding policies. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to foster a supportive atmosphere for both students and staff. The contract is fixed-term, covering July to August 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the centre, including arrivals, departures, and catering.
- Oversee team performance and conduct regular meetings.
- Implement Health & Safety and Safeguarding procedures.
- Supervise centre finances and ensure profitability.
- Conduct student inductions and manage student welfare and discipline issues.
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Officer and maintain student safety.
- Communicate regularly with Head Office and provide weekly reports.
- Ensure compliance with British Council accreditation standards.
- Manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the centre.
- Complete administrative tasks and maintain accurate records.
Key Skills:
- Experience working with multi-nationality students.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- High level of computer literacy, particularly in MS Office.
- Ability to work well in a team and remain calm under pressure.
- Right to work in the UK/EU.
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Experience in a senior role at a summer camp.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding policies.
- Experience in educational contexts with children/teenagers.
