Summary: This role is for a Central Knowledge Paralegal within the Corporate & Finance Transactions Department at a law firm in London. The position involves supporting Knowledge Lawyers and the Knowledge Solutions team, engaging in various knowledge management projects, and gaining exposure to multiple legal disciplines. The successful candidate will work closely with qualified lawyers and legal technologists, developing a multidisciplinary skillset. This is a unique opportunity to understand the inner workings of an international law firm while contributing to knowledge management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Helping keep the group and its clients up-to-date on procedural, legal and market developments;
- Creating and amending CFT intranet pages and generally assisting with maintaining know-how resources/collections;
- Helping run internal CFT technical and trainee training programmes and know-how sessions;
- Assisting with creation of new templates, practice notes and standard advice, and updating that content to reflect legal, procedural and market changes;
- Helping prepare client briefing notes/guides, including assisting with blog processes and conflict checks;
- Participating in Innovation/Technology trials relevant to CFT lawyers, including testing AI products;
- Undertaking legal research;
- Assisting with the update of templates which have been automated;
- Assisting on a range of other knowledge projects on-going in the CFT Department from time to time;
- Working alongside lawyers to audit the knowledge content on the firm’s Knowledge Systems;
- Actively monitoring lawyer engagement with KM systems/processes by collecting usage data and helping to create visualized data reports;
- Testing new Knowledge systems and providing feedback on functionality;
- Helping maintain Knowledge Solutions intranet pages and training resources;
- Providing project admin support as needed to colleagues across the Knowledge Solutions team.

One of the main purposes of the Global Knowledge Group is to capture, organise, disseminate and leverage BCLP’s knowledge internally. • The Global Knowledge Group comprises three teams: • A central Knowledge Solutions team, responsible for the development and adoption of knowledge-related technology used in the firm, as well as promoting a knowledge-sharing culture. • A Knowledge Lawyer team, embedded within our practice groups and giving specialised knowledge support to our lawyers across a range of legal disciplines, including Litigation, Real Estate and Corporate/Finance. • The Research, Information and Intelligence team, which provides librarian and analyst support services to our lawyers in all offices. • This is a rare and exciting opportunity to see “behind-the-scenes” of a law firm, and get involved in a variety of knowledge projects. • Three/four days a week, this role involves supporting Knowledge Lawyers based in our Corporate & Finance Transactions Department (CFT) under the supervision of the Lead Knowledge Counsels for CFT. Knowledge Lawyers in our CFT Department support a broad range of legal areas, including M&A and Corporate Finance; Commercial Lending; Debt Capital Markets; Transport & Asset Finance; Real Estate Finance; Restructuring & Insolvency; Energy, Environment & Infrastructure; Technology & Commercial; and Tax. This paralegal role will therefore gain a wide variety of experience. • Approximately one day a week, this role will support our Knowledge Solutions team (under supervision of the Senior Knowledge Development Advisor in that team). This provides an opportunity to assist other practice groups from time to time, and become involved in a range of legal technology projects (including Generative AI).
