Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse sales vs stock to identify trends, risks and opportunities
  • Produce trade reports, promotional analysis and insights
  • Support SKU set-up, pricing and promotional activity
  • Assist with range planning and product lifecycle management
  • Manage elements of the critical path to ensure smooth launches
  • Work closely with Supply Chain, Marketing and suppliers
  • Handle category queries and reporting requests

Key Skills:

  • Experience in Category Planning, Merchandising, Buying Admin or similar
  • Background in a head office retail environment with high SKU volumes
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs)
  • High attention to detail
  • Confident communicator – able to build relationships and challenge when needed
  • Experience with systems like SAP is advantageous

This is Alexander Faraday Recruitment are excited to be working with a leading retail business to recruit a Category Planner for a 12-month temporary assignment on a hybrid basis. This is a high-volume, fast-paced environment where you’ll support a key product category (beauty) and play a central role in driving commercial performance.

The Role

  • Analyse sales vs stock to identify trends, risks and opportunities
  • Produce trade reports, promotional analysis and insights
  • Support SKU set-up, pricing and promotional activity
  • Assist with range planning and product lifecycle management
