Summary: The Category Buyer (indirect) role at a leading multinational manufacturer involves developing and executing purchasing strategies for indirect categories. Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing, managing, and executing the indirect purchasing category strategy.
  • Managing policies, agreements, source catalogs, and special procurement programs.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost decreases, inventory reductions, and quality improvements.
  • Acting as a liaison between the organization and suppliers to communicate information clearly.
  • Documenting supplier performance regarding timeliness and production.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.

Key Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with PowerBI is highly advantageous.
  • Purchasing experience.
  • Experience with contracts and negotiations.

Salary (Rate): £20.42ph PAYE

Detailed Description From Employer:

PE Global is currently recruiting for a Category Buyer (indirect) for a leading multinational manufacturer of construction and mining equipment client based in Desford. This is an initial 12 months contract position working on site 5 days a week. Pay rate is £20.42ph PAYE or £30.98ph Umbrella.

Duties of the role/Responsibilities

  • Developing, managing and executing the indirect purchasing category strategy managing policies, agreements, source catalogs, and special procurement programs.
  • Recognizing the potential for cost decreases, inventory reductions and quality improvement, as well as responsibility for soundness of business proposals and risk assessment.
  • Acting as the liaison between the organization and the supplier to communicate information explicitly, while considering production demands and suppliers' conditions.
  • Documenting the suppliers' performance on time sensitiveness and production; maintains a strong relationship with suppliers.

Education/Experience

  • Microsoft office proficient with a focus on Excel.
  • Experience with PowerBI highly advantageous.
