Summary: The Capital Projects Program Manager will oversee a portfolio of facility projects in Calgary, ensuring effective project controls, cost management, and scheduling. The role requires a strong background in project controls with at least 10 years of experience. The position is primarily office-based with the option for remote work on Fridays. This is a contract-to-permanent opportunity with potential for long-term employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage 20-25 facility projects ranging in value from $500,000 to $3 million, with select projects valued between $10 million to $15 million.
- Oversee project scheduling, cost controls, and reporting to ensure timely and on-budget project delivery.
- Coordinate with project teams, stakeholders, and contractors to drive project success.
- Utilize Primavera P6 for scheduling and project tracking.
- Create and maintain detailed project cost reports, ensuring accurate forecasts and tracking.
- Provide expert guidance on project controls processes and tools, ensuring all projects align with organizational standards and goals.
- Assist in improving and streamlining project management and controls processes.
Key Skills:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project controls, with a focus on cost controls and scheduling.
- Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 for project scheduling and management.
- Advanced Excel skills are required (including pivot tables, formulas, and complex data analysis).
- Experience with JD Edwards and Omega 365/PIMs is an asset but not required.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
