The post holder will provide leadership, expertise and motivation in the development and delivery of major and minor capital projects in line with the Regional Partnership Board s Strategic Capital Plans. Responsible for managing a portfolio of capital projects from inception through to completion, the post holder will also be responsible for project assurance and governance ensuring the smooth running of projects, including post project evaluation and lessons learnt to inform future projects going forward.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.Main duties of the jobReporting to the Assistant Director of Partnership & Integration, the post holder will provide leadership, expertise and motivation in the development and delivery of major and minor capital projects in line with the Regional Partnership Board s Strategic Capital Plans. This includes Business Case development, ensuring cases are aligned to the Health Boards strategic and service priorities, assisting in the capital procurement process, buildingcommissioning and service implementation. Join us on our journey to pioneer new ways of working and deliver a world-class healthcare service fit for the future.Qualifications & KnowledgeEssential criteriaEducated to Masters level or knowledge gained through equivalent experienceProject Management qualification such as Prince 2 or Managing Successful ProgrammeEvidence of Continual Professional DevelopmentDesirable criteriaFormal training in Capital Investment Manual/Business Case techniques.Experience in NHS service changeExperienceEssential criteriaPrevious experience of managing projects / programmes, ideally capital planning.Experience of working in an NHS environment or similar changing organisation where flexibility and adaptability were essential.Experience of delivering outcomes within tight timescalesExperience of working with highly complex information and using persuasive and effective negotiation skills in connection with this informationDesirable criteriaExperience in NHS service changeKnowledge & UnderstandingEssential criteriaKnowledge of ABUHB/WAG planning, capital and management processes.Knowledge of legal, governance and commercial considerations associated with capital, property and contracts.Desirable criteriaKnowledge of budgeting and resource allocation proceduresSkills and AttributesEssential criteriaStrong leadership and management skillsDesirable criteriaAbility to develop and maintain strong relationships within the multi-agency NHS and Welsh Assembly capital investment environment.
