Summary: The Capital Accountant role is a 12-month fixed-term contract focused on managing and optimizing capital expenditure within a company committed to health and wellness. The position involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, leading budgeting and forecasting efforts, and driving process improvements through automation. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to maintain compliance and enhance operational efficiency. A strong commitment to financial accuracy and process optimization is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly Capex reporting in collaboration with Finance Business Partners.
- Maintain rigorous controls over capital expenditure and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Lead the preparation of the annual capital expenditure budget and contribute to mid-year reforecasts.
- Identify areas for process improvement and streamline reporting procedures.
- Automate aspects of Capex reporting and tracking.
- Monitor capital spend against the budget for projects and business areas.
- Engage with stakeholders across the business, including project managers and senior leadership.
Key Skills:
- Part-qualified or newly qualified in a recognized accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and complex reporting.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint) and experience with Unit 4 ERP or similar systems.
- Strategic and commercial mindset with a focus on adding value to business operations.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to change.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask independently.
- Prior experience in management accounts or Capex in a complex organization.
