Capability & Workforce Planning Lead
Summary: The Capability & Workforce Planning Lead role at Harvey Nash involves leading the capability and workforce planning workstream within a significant IT transformation program. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the capability and workforce planning workstream within an IT transformation programme.
- Establish an evidence-based understanding of current capability across the IT function.
- Define future capability requirements and drive initiatives to address skills and capability gaps.
- Support the design and implementation of enterprise-wide job families aligned with technology strategy.
- Develop structured technical learning and development frameworks.
- Establish certification and competency standards across key roles.
Key Skills:
- Strong analytical capability to assess workforce data and capability gaps.
- Experience presenting workforce insights and transformation plans to senior stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of project management concepts and principles.
- Organisational awareness with the ability to operate confidently across all functions.
- Proficient in Microsoft systems, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, & MS Office suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The Role
Lead the capability and workforce planning workstream within a major IT transformation programme, ensuring the organisation has the skills, structure, and ways of working needed to deliver its technology strategy.
The role will establish a clear, evidence-based understanding of current capability across a large IT function, define future capability requirements, and drive targeted initiatives to address identified skills and capability gaps.
Working closely with HR and senior technology stakeholders, you will support the design and implementation of enterprise-wide job families aligned, develop structured technical learning and development frameworks, and establish certification and competency standards across key roles.
Essential Skills
- Strong analytical capability to assess workforce data and capability gaps
- Experience presenting workforce insights and transformation plans to senior stakeholders
- In depth knowledge of the concepts and principles of project management, planning, time management and project leadership
- Organisational awareness with ability to operate with confidence and credibility across all functions of the organisation
- Proficient user of all Microsoft systems, including; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, & MS Office suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present and explain management information clearly to senior leaders
