Summary: Rubicon Consulting is seeking a CAD Draughtsman for a 6-month contract based in Stafford with hybrid working arrangements. The role involves producing high-quality technical drawings for substation projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications and deadlines. The successful candidate will support engineering teams and maintain accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed General Arrangement (GA) drawings, layouts, schematics, and related technical documentation.
- Maintain drawing registers, revisions, and version control in line with project and company procedures.
- Interpret engineering mark-ups, specifications, and design data to produce precise drawings.
- Support engineering teams by updating drawings, incorporating design changes, and resolving drafting queries.
- Ensure all drawings comply with applicable industry, client, and company CAD standards.
- Assist with document control and drawing issue processes.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure drawing accuracy and consistency.
Key Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
- Experience working on substation, high-voltage (HV), or electrical infrastructure projects.
- Strong technical drawing and detailing skills.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret technical information and engineering drawings.

Role Summary
To produce accurate, high-quality technical drawings for substation projects (National Grid), supporting engineering teams and ensuring all deliverables meet project specifications, standards, and deadlines.
