Summary: The CAD/CAM Engineer role at Elevation Recruitment Group involves contributing to high-precision engineering projects within a leading advanced manufacturing business. The position requires generating CAM programs and supporting various CNC machining processes while ensuring configuration control and driving productivity improvements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate CAM programs, stage drawings, tool packs, and shop floor documentation using NX10
  • Conduct program simulation and verification using Vericut prior to prove-out on machines
  • Provide programming support across CNC machining, Laser (Trumpf), EDM, and CMM (PC-DMIS)
  • Ensure configuration control of all master models, programs, and CAD/CAM data
  • Support engineering change processes, NCRs, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to commercial bidding processes by producing accurate CAM-generated cost estimates and setting TUPC standards
  • Drive productivity improvements through problem-solving and process optimisation
  • Meet key performance targets, including project milestones, ECR closures, and machining quality KPIs

Key Skills:

  • HNC (or higher) in Engineering or equivalent industry experience in a CAD/CAM or Manufacturing Engineering function
  • Proven experience programming 5-axis machines and using Siemens NX - essential (v6–10 preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Vericut simulation software
  • Experience programming Trumpf laser machines, EDM, and CMMs using PC-DMIS
  • Solid understanding of CNC machining, fixturing, tooling, and CAD/CAM data control
  • A structured and proactive approach to problem-solving, task prioritisation, and continuous improvement
  • Team player with a positive, change-embracing attitude and strong communication skills
  • Lean qualifications (Green/Black Belt) would be advantageous
